System.Windows.Markup.XamlParse exception when adding new account

Nov 8, 2010 at 2:12 PM

I've downloaded the latest version and when I click "Add new account", the application crashes. The problem comes from the AddAccountDialog.xaml file. Has anyone already had this problem?

Thomas, so far we can't repro this. If anyone else is having the same problem, please let us know.

Exact same problem: click on "Add new account" after installation, and application closes. I can repro this on a Windows Server 2003 Web Edition + .NET 4 on a virtual machine if interested. I also have two error report CABs of the crashes.

plexus, I think your problem is operating system version - the Windows Azure SDK doesn't support Windows Server 2003, you need one of the following; Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.

thomas_leroy, since I haven't been able to reproduce the problem I'm wondering if your issue is also a matter of operating system. Which version of Windows are you running on?

Hi,

I have the same problem on a Windows 7 64bit machine. After opening the application and clicking "Add Account", a click or key press in one of the text fields in the storage account dialog will crash the application with the following exception:

FatalExecutionEngineError was detected

Message: The runtime has encountered a fatal error. The address of the error was at 0xe26c6f80, on thread 0x1d1c. The error code is 0xc0000005. This error may be a bug in the CLR or in the unsafe or non-verifiable portions of user code. Common sources of this bug include user marshaling errors for COM-interop or PInvoke, which may corrupt the stack.

I get that exception message when running the application in debug mode from Visual Studio 2010 on the latest source code for Azure Storage Explorer.

I am running it without problems on my Windows 7 64bit laptop.

Best regards,

Ebbe
